Llandudno Half Marathon

Sunday 29^th March 2026

A scenic Half Marathon that starts on the promenade opposite Venue Cymru.

The route goes along the promenade to the Victorian pier and back along the promenade to Rhos on Sea and returns to Venue Cymru along the same route.
The route is mostly flat with the exception of the “Little Orme” 1/2 mile hill, if you have done the Conwy half marathon, then the Little Orme is the Great Orme’s smaller relative.
Congratulations to over 1,000 runners who braved the weather at today’s Llandudno half marathon and 10 miler, it was a very high turnout considering.
A huge thank you to all the marshals and helpers for standing out in the wintery weather.

Race report by Tayne Cornelius

Ian and Tayne represented the club at the Cloud 9 fell race, organised by Congleton Harriers. This event is well‑run, great value, challenging, and set in stunning scenery – with a little bit of everything thrown in.
Starting near Congleton Leisure Centre, the route begins and finishes on the Biddulph Valley Way, which is trail terrain, similar to the Isabel Trail. After the first mile, the pack begins to spread out as you head towards Bosley Cloud.
The course truly offers a mix of conditions: steep steps to climb, stretches through farmers’ fields, winding paths among the trees, and more technical sections – especially on the descent, where you’re treated to stunning views across the Cheshire landscape.
It’s essentially a supercharged version of the Wincle Trout (another of our challenge runs), and thoroughly recommended.
