Don’t worry, when you join or renew, you will be asked for the size of your top. Everyone who joins or renews before the end of January gets a training top.

The Rugby club have also added that they will have breakfast items available to buy along with hot drinks, cold drinks and bar snacks!

As we start to prepare for the club AGM (Thursday, 22 January 2026 at 8pm,  venue: Cricket club).

The AGM is to give an update on the club’s activities in 2025 and to set the direction for 2026. This AGM will also have an added requirement for vacant roles to be filled. Please see below.

Committee roles open::

1/ Chair person  — You will have support from ex-chairs: myself, Simon Bromley, Darren Mattocks and Craig Baxter, so nothing to worry about!

2/ The Club Secretary – does require skills to work the EA portal but lots of help available from Julie and via EA.

3/ Vice-Chair – Mark Bentley has offered to step up from Committee member to this role – Thank you Mark.

4/ Social Events planning – I know we have lots of you that like to party so come on don’t be shy! We have booked the date and venue for the Awards night (Friday, February 27th 2026, at the Cricket club). So this would be a great event to start with!  Again, lots of support available – Ness will even share her event planning spreadsheets 😉

5/ There will also be a need to supplement committee members – a good starting point.

The club committee has now agreed the club membership fees for 2026.

The great news, in this time of rising prices, is that it has been agreed to keep the cost of membership at this year’s rates.

So, club membership for over 18 adults remains at £30 (over 70s and Associate members free).

And for juniors and under 18 full-time students it remains at £20.

For those wishing to compete as a Stafford Harrier in races affiliated to England Athletics who therefore require EA registration, although EA has raised their cost for this from £20 to £23 for 2026, the club committee has agreed to subsidise this increase for next year so that Harriers pay  at this year’s rate.

So adult seniors requiring EA registration will pay £30 club membership plus £20 EA registration fee (subsidised £3). Total £50, the same as this year.

Juniors and under 18 full-time students requiring EA registration will pay £20 club membership plus £10 EA registration fee (subsidised £13). Total £30, the same as this year.

We are sure you will agree that this represents great value!
